Millennium Software platform

30 Squares

A public platform built around interactive mapping: trails, teams, sponsorship and creator tools, with a full administration system behind it.

Overview

About 30 Squares

30 Squares is one of Millennium Software's own platforms — designed, built and still run by Steve. It is the clearest public example of what a bespoke system looks like when the website and the software behind it are the same project rather than two separate ones.

The solution

What was built

Everything a visitor sees and everything an administrator uses was built for this platform specifically: the mapping and trail features, the account and team structure, the sponsorship and creator tools, and the administration screens used to run it day to day.

How it was built

The development process

Built in stages on a live development environment, the same way Millennium Software runs customer projects — each part usable and testable before the next was started.

That is how every Millennium Software project runs: developed in stages on a live environment you can log into and test, with your feedback going straight to the person writing the code. See how remote development works .
